It's Victorica Monroe's first season with the Mississippi School for the Deaf girls basketball program. And when she took over, she had no idea it would be a historic one, the Jackson Clarion Ledger reports.
But after only four months she has guided the Bulldogs to their sixth Mason Dixon Championship and their first appearance in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs in the school's history.
Monroe herself is former student and basketball star at the school. She attended from the age of 3 and showed leadership qualities from the beginning.
