She started at the age of 7, after first being turned away by her local gymnastics coach. But when a cousin broke her foot, her family convinced the coach -- who had never taken on a child with a disability -- to let Aimee Pond take her place.
Two weeks later, the coach was sold, and Aimee went on to be known as the kid who refused to make excuses -- and to compete at the highest levels of her sport. Now the mother of four, she wants to open the same opportunities to other kids.
