Fish, vegetables, fruit, olive oil and nuts hold the key to fighting a leading cause of sight loss, the UK's Daily Express reports.
The findings are published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Some experts fear the numbers of elderly people affected by AMD may rise steeply as the Baby Boomer generation ages.
The study found that adults who regularly ate Mediterranean-type foods were 26 percent less likely to lose their vision.
