He's only 5-foot-4 and he can't hear, but Carpinteria coach Ben Hallock says that doesn't stop cornerback Guillermo “Memo” Tavira from breaking up pass plays and making tackles.
Hallock introduced Tavira at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon on Monday, Presidio Sports reports.
“'He’s got a great, great motor, he can just go and go; he’s a tiger, he is fearless and there is no quit in him at all,' Hallock said. 'He’s had to line up against some very tall receivers and he’s made some great plays just by being a tenacious defender and putting himself [in a] position to make great plays.'”
