Uber has updated its partner app with features designed for its deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers, wired.com reports.
The updated app works by allowing the driver to flip a switch, triggering a light to flash when a new trip is requested, in addition to the existing audio cue. In addition, passengers will only be able contact the driver via text message.
The app also adds an extra screen for passengers to enter their destination, alongside a note informing them that their driver is deaf or hard-of-hearing.
