In a couple of weeks, we'll experience again the craziness that we call Black Friday.
All over the country, people will rush from their Thanksgiving tables to line up for bargains and scramble for the latest gadgets at the best prices.
That's fine - we all love a good bargain. But we'd like to draw your attention to a new tradition, started in 2012 by New York's 92nd Street Y, called Giving Tuesday. This year it falls on December 2, and it's a day set aside for all of us to remember those who might not be able to participate in our annual celebration of plenty.
LSH is proud to be a part of this. We hope you'll agree that an important aspect of this season is sharing our good fortune with those who are in need. For LSH, that means serving those in our communities who are suffering from impaired vision or hearing and who don't have the means to fix the problem.
We hope you'll take the time to visit Giving Tuesday at www.givingtuesday.org. And of course we also hope you'll make room for LSH in your plans for charitable giving this holiday season.
