Abbi Keating, from New South Wales, Australia, lost her hearing at the age of two, and also stopped talking, the UK's Daily Mirror reports.
Her mom, Amy, 31, was devastated but made sure her daughter was fitted with hearing aids.
Abbi later had surgery to have a cochlear implant fitted. But she longed for a doll just like her, and spent hours drawing hearing devices onto her dolls with a pen.
Finally, after some online research, Amy found an affordable 'Just Like You Doll,' and designed a doll for Abbi.
She decided to film the moment Abbi opened her surprise doll and let out a screech of delight.
