Ten years ago, a suicide bomber robbed Scotty Smiley of his vision.
"When my eyesight was taken from me, it put me into a mental category where I felt lesser than everybody else,” Smiley told the Tri-City Herald in Washington state. Last weekend, Smiley was a changed man.
“I woke up an Ironman today! Grateful for all the love and support,” Smiley tweeted yesterday. Having completed the competition in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, he is now resting up in his hometown of Spokane.
