When Wren Zimmerman was diagnosed with Stargart’s Macular Dystrophy, it was only a matter of time before she would almost completely lose her vision. After her senior year in high school, she had to stop driving.
After graduating from college, she moved in with her parents and tried to adjust to the limitations on her life. But Wren had always loved horses. She decided to see whether it would be possible to return to riding.
To do that, however, she would have to find a very special horse. And she found just that in Rio, a big, handsome former racehorse who seems to understand his job better than most. To Wren, Rio only appears as a large blur, but thanks to him, she has even returned to competing, winning a blue ribbon at their first show.
