When the family dog chewed up Braden Baker's hearing aids -- twice -- his parents gave him a lecture on responsibility, ABC News reports. They also told him how much the devices cost.
They're not covered by insurance, so Braden's parents, Ashley and Christopher Baker, have to pay $4,000 each time he needs new ones. The Fort Worth, Texas boy was born with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and he has worn hearing aids since he was three months old.
Braden said he "felt kind of bad" for the people who might not be able to afford new ones. So he decided to do something about it, and started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for hearing aids for the needy.
Last week, Braden and his mother handed over a check for $15,000 to the Otican Hearing Foundation.
