A profoundly deaf 6-year-old girl from Swindon in the UK is heading for Hollywood, iNews reports.
The film she stars in, designed to promote awareness around hearing impairment, was shortlisted for the Oscars.
In the film, Maisie Sly plays a deaf girl who struggles until a caring social worker teaches her sign language.
The 20-minute short has already won critical acclaim and awards at international film festivals.
Last year Maisie traveled with her parents, who are are also deaf, to the Rhode Island International Film Festival, where the film won the Best Live Action Short award.
