The Fire Department in Waterville, Maine was alerted last weekend about a small dog trapped on a riverbank near a bridge after it was swept downstream, the Bangor Daily News reports.

Once the pooch was safe, the crew was able to locate its owner.
“WFD proudly serves our residents, but sometimes even our pets will find themselves in a bind,” the department said in the Facebook post.
