Blind for more than 20 years.
Last month 70-year-old MaryAnn Franco needed surgery after a fall. Blind for more than 20 years, she awoke from surgery and all of a sudden she could see, the Okeechobee News reports.
Her doctors can't explain it.
In 1993, after a nursing career and raising a family, Mary Ann was involved in a serious car accident, followed by a stroke that left her blind. She adjusted to life without her sight, learning to use a cane and live independently.
Then she fell at home, resulting in several vertebrae out of alignment and bone chip that needed to be removed. She had surgery on April 6 and woke up in recovery with her vision restored.
