Latvian startup Tactile Eyesight is using 3D printing to create tactile book illustrations for blind and visually impaired children, 3ders.org reports.
Its first project is the book Missing Monkey by Latvian author Luīzes Pastores.
With the help of Mass Portal’s Latvian-built 3D printing technology, the company aims to bring fully tactile illustrations to children’s literature. A blind or visually impaired reader will be able to feel a set of tactile 3D printed illustrations, bringing characters, objects and landscapes to life.
