Frenchwoman Jeannine Mallard is the third patient to come forward with a lawsuit against U.S. Stem Cell, WPTV reports.
The Florida stem cell therapy clinic is in the national spotlight after four patients said its eye injections caused blindness.
“They told me they injected 12 patients and they improved,” said Mallard, who sought the treatment for macular degeneration, a progressive eye disease.
In early 2015, Mallard traveled to South Florida from France and paid $7,000 for a U.S. Stem Cell procedure to slow down her vision loss. Instead, she claims, she suffered a detached retina as a result of the treatment.
Now her right eye will need to be removed.
