Joe Birch, a Google Expert and Android developer, has created a new guitar called the Chord Assist, PC Magazine reports.
Joe has the genetic disorder retinitis pigmentosa, which causes a loss of vision and in Joe's case, tunnel vision. Music is important to him, so he decided to make a standard guitar more accessible for deaf and blind people.
The Chord Assist can communicate instructions through braille, audio, or on an embedded display in the body of the guitar. The user can ask it to "Show me how to play a G chord," for example.
