The Cheesecake Factory restaurant chain will settle a federal complaint and pay $15,000 in back wages to a deaf dishwasher, US News reports.
The complaint says that managers at the restaurant showed Oleg Ivanov training videos that lacked closed captioning, and as a result, he didn't understand that he needed to frequently check his work schedule. He was then fired for missing a shift.
Under the settlement, the chain will also provide closed captioning for their training and orientation videos that are required viewing for new hires.
